I think that you will find, if you look closer at them, that the "8 track cassettes" are actually commercial and/or intro cartridges (carts).

Know WFMC very well, in my home town! Been in that building many times. "Top Gun in Goldsboro, WFMC." Had an FM station in same building WOKN.

judging by how soft the rock is, I would say the walls of the tunnel are shale(a very soft and porous type of sedimentary rock)

That last house was probably for the head administrator of the school.

I had never been around this place till I took a train ride a few weeks ago. I did not even know what it was but when I went to eat at a place near by I saw it and it sent my heart racing. I told my hubby I don't know what that is but the negative energy coming out of that thing is massive. I did not even want to be any closer to it. This is a horrible place and that ground is cursed. I hope yall did not bring home anything while you were there. It's another level of bad juju!

My husband enjoyed watching this very much. He says this was a large mill prob run by a timber company like GP. And a ton of stuff that could still be used in operations today. Thanks so much for sharing. There are a lot of areas of Virginia that are not that well known and esp those that have lost the industrial businesses that supported the towns. Stay safe.

Think the CDs survived much better than the records? Then they could be saved. (no pun) Those files in that file cabinet are not able to be salvaged. The rest of the equipment is too far gone to be salvaged, either. At 5:53 Was there a duck in there? 😂 or some kind of bird making that sound?

Hey man where in Virginia is this? I’m from the Williamsburg area and have been looking for cool places to explore since eastern state hospital has been really hard to get into recently

Oddly enough, that little pond is natural.

That big tall one was used for a lot of actors to sleep in. The bottom floor was for taking historical like pictures. People would dress up in costume and get their pictures taken. My troop and I did a Rapunzel bit from the top of that and it was really fun.we had a stunt actor climb up the rope hair that we had created. 1998 was a lot of fun.

I was a stunt performer there in 1998. I was only there for three months but they were some of the best months I ever had in my life. I did stunts off of the ship stage. And where you both were in the beginning that was a restaurant that used to look over the tilt yard where the jousters used to perform.

I wonder if they left the transmitter and satellite equipment. I would love to know what they were using the C-band for There used to be a lot of religious audio feeds on C-band. I am guessing they used it for that

Since the tunnel collapse has caused sinkholes over the years (leading to damage and destruction of other buildings), I have to imagine that at some point the local/state government is going to have to open the tunnel and fill it in. It was sealed in 1926 and I would hope that our technology has improved enough in the last hundred years to allow that to happen safely.

Me and my ex explore their when I was in my thirties it was pretty cool looking around everything in the old buildings I would love to do it again

So sad to see William Penn High School in such horrid condition. Also Bishop McDevitt Catholic High School being closed down. My sister graduated from there. What a waste of resources when you see electronics, computers, text books, shop classrooms and the cosmetology lab just laying there to waste. Surely other schools could use that equipment!

The loft in the 1st wood shop looks freaking cozy as hell 😮

If this is where I think it is....this is part of two major EPA Superfund sites in that area. VERY contaminated and will take decades to remediate. Any land near a naval weapon station or DOD site has contamination issues.

From what i understand there is renewed interest in getting the train (or what remains) out and possibly filling the rest of the tunnel since its such a risk
