You must know and understand that there is no cure for mental illness. Once a nut, always a nut. Only drugs work and other options such as being locked up. It is a tuff job for the staff. I wonder what is the real cause of being nuts. Is it biological? Can that be changed via mRNA? I think there always was a high percentage of mental illness in all societies. It is very sad.

I'm from the Town of Potter and grew up around Penn Yan I would walk the kauka tails all the time in the summer and fall. Me and my cousin would ride our horses down the kauka tails. You can go from Penn Yan to Dresden that the kauka tails go to.

My question is why didn't they take all of those records and CDs, there was absolutely no reason why they couldn't, those records and CDs could have been worth a lot of money, those things don't lose Value to the right Person. They're worthless now because of the water damage, I'm not sure if that kind of stuff can be restored.

Children institutions are horrible I lived in one for many years because I am autistic. Was placed overnight with ankles and hands strapped to the bed because I cried. Never did any harm to anyone but still got mistreated hit and placed in ice cold showers for long time. Sad to see left behind stuffed animals in those places 😢 they meant a lot to someone there

That deep part is probably the old rail road bed. If the dirt was excavated out from the beginning of the tunnel down to roadbed level,it wouldn’t flood in there.

What's the name of the church building? Why was it abandoned exactly. What a strange place it's kind of a shame. Why didn't they sell it to someone else or make a smaller mission church there?

Excellent video psychiatric hospital in Willard ,N.Y. many years ago this whole area was filled with these type of buildings 1980 was the last time they were open 😮

I was fortunate to go though the castle in the 80's when the Foote's first owned it. They had intended to bring it back. But people had other plans. they destroyed it. It had only been closed for just over 10 yrs when I saw it. I spent many many nights with my friends that lived in the first white house on the left coming up the driveway. They also lived in two other homes that were gorgeous on the property. i've heard that those homes have burned. I wish they had tore them down and were able to salvage some of the high quality building supplies.

I was fortunate enough to see St. Johns still standing. Though heavily damaged. The middle of the church had collapsed in on itself by that time. I believe a fire caused the original collapse, then a second fire a decade later pretty well did it in and the remaining wood and debris was removed. The cornerstone is just up the road at the ATV park. I couldn't describe how awesome it was to see that first time. It wasnt easily visible from the road, so you didn't really see it until your started climbing the hill. It was a rather tall building and sitting up the hill tucked well away in the trees made it appear otherworldly.

this station was never a country station every Urban Contemporary Gospel was its format it went on the air in 1952 in the 90s it ran into financial trouble there is nothing official on as to why it left this location but changing listing habit and the shift to HD and digital is a good bet they left everything behind because the need for record tape and even CDs was sliding as Streaming was starting to take hold stations had to pay a license fee every time a song play and Leasing services started taking over slowly CDs dyed out and streaming took over. Most Radio station started selling out to one of a few large giant media company's I heart Cumulus to name a couple . there is very few privity owned radio stations left .

Ahhhhh yes......our beautiful city ❤ I've been here 35yrs this September. I remember Summer of '06, getting off work @ The Village Exxon LATE SHIFT..getting an early morning sub @ Aladdin's or a slice @ 18th Street....and driving my GTI up to Jefferson Hill to watch the excavation efforts, Locomotive #231 is sitting closer to 18th street and the western end of the tunnel...its sitting in 18ft of sludge with 11ft of Church Hill groundwater on top. Mayor Wilder shut it down because the retired CSX executive didn't have permits for draining water out of a 133yr. old tunnel with an antique 100yr old Locomotive pieces in it..... Did you know that it will be the 100th Anniversary of the Church Hill Tunnel next October?

I think that you will find, if you look closer at them, that the "8 track cassettes" are actually commercial and/or intro cartridges (carts).

Know WFMC very well, in my home town! Been in that building many times. "Top Gun in Goldsboro, WFMC." Had an FM station in same building WOKN.

judging by how soft the rock is, I would say the walls of the tunnel are shale(a very soft and porous type of sedimentary rock)

I had never been around this place till I took a train ride a few weeks ago. I did not even know what it was but when I went to eat at a place near by I saw it and it sent my heart racing. I told my hubby I don't know what that is but the negative energy coming out of that thing is massive. I did not even want to be any closer to it. This is a horrible place and that ground is cursed. I hope yall did not bring home anything while you were there. It's another level of bad juju!
